Paul earned his PhD in materials science and MBA from UCLA in the early eighties. He was one of the founding principals and a member of the Board of Directors of Global Gauge Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, USA, from 1999 to 2014 and was chairman of Eastern Materials Inspection Equipment Co., Ltd. in Beijing, China, during the same period. He was active in the Fight to Protect Diaoyu Islands Movement in the U.S. in the early seventies. Loves horseback riding and sailing.
