大陸國家主席習近平與美國總統川普24日通話，儘管美方公布的通話紀要迴避台灣問題，把重點放在貿易及雙邊關係，但從川普接著主動與日本首相高市早苗通話，觸及陸美議題，顯然「台灣有事」論已成為印太地區的不定時炸彈。
此次的「川習通話」是兩國元首上月達成關稅休兵後的首次對話。川普稱雙方談到黃豆與其他農產品的採購，及遏止非法芬太尼走私，也提及他同意明年4月訪問北京，並邀習明年赴美進行國是訪問，凸顯兩人好交情。
陸方公布的訊息卻提到台灣，並指川普說：「中國當年為二戰勝利發揮了重要作用，美方理解台灣問題對於中國的重要性。」話雖點到為止，也未就台灣地位說明，但從大陸紀念二戰的九三閱兵，川普說習近平應提及美國幫助很多，此次習以中美曾在二戰並肩對抗法西斯，如今更應共同維護「戰後成果」來引出台灣問題，確實有其戰略目的。
此外，習近平雖沒提到日本，但川普說二戰是美國幫忙打的；加上陸日緊張情勢升溫，不管軍演或旅遊、經濟的抵制，川普主動打電話給高市，顯然知道高市「台灣有事」的言論惹了大麻煩，更挑戰他向來對台灣議題戰略模糊的原則。
「川普交易」在美陸之間形成鬥而不破的外交藝術，貿易休兵後，雙方立刻同意設軍事溝通管道；大陸也在外交上積極尋求突破，德國、英國、韓國等多國高層相繼釋出訪陸意願。但民進黨政府卻燃起外交戰火，把大陸視為境外敵對勢力，阻礙官民交流。
川習通話無疑是對台的一記警鐘，執政者需冷靜思考如何穩定台海局勢，勿生事躁進。
